5 Healthcare Careers That Will Grow Like Gangbusters This Decade

Even through economic times, there are some roles within the healthcare industry that continue to grow in demand and popularity. These careers aren’t expected to slow down, and as a matter of fact are expected to gain momentum throughout the next decade.

1. Registered Nurses: We’ve been told for quite some time that there is nurse shortage, and that contributes to the necessity for this role. There continues to be a high demand for registered nurses, and this doesn’t show any signs of slowing down anytime soon. As registered nurses can work within a wide array of environments and offer help with many different responsibilities, this continues to be a career that will be in high demand throughout this decade.
2. Physician Assistants: As this is a role that is relatively new but is showing the extreme value that it brings, this is expected to be a career with high growth in this decade. Though a physician’s assistant may not be able to offer all of the same services as a physician directly, they are a valuable part of the medical staff.
3. Support Staff: This covers a rather large group of people within the medical community, but it will prove to be an area of high growth. Individuals working in support roles within the healthcare industry such as administration, finance, marketing, and computer science can expect to have high demand for their roles. This will prove to be a pivotal type of role in this decade and beyond, within the healthcare industry specifically.
4. Nurses Aides: Though this is a more entry level type of position within the healthcare industry, it happens to be a career in high demand. As nurses aids may work within facilities such as a nursing home or work with patients in their homes directly, this can be a very versatile role adding to the appeal and demand that it brings to the table.
5. Nurse Practitioners: This is a role that continues to grow in popularity and notability. As nurse practitioners can provide many of the same services as doctors, this continues to be a pivotal role and is expected to grow even more throughout this decade.

Though the healthcare industry is doing quite well overall, there are some careers that stand out. These careers are expected to grow exponentially throughout the next decade, and this just shows the importance of them.
